Fusion Baton offers classes from learn to twirl to competitive team and individual with semi private / private lessons where students will be prepared for competitions at the Provincial, National and International level.  CBTF accredited coaches work with your twirler and training is built on the CBTF Skill Development Program as well as NBTA/IBTF.   Not sure which one is best for your twirler?  We will help you decide.

 

2025 Winter Registration

Date: January 7th - March 25th  (12 weeks)

Tuesday Location: Bethany United Church Gym 2669 Joseph Howe Drive

Wednesday Location: 2700 Robie Street (Team Ignite & Team Omni)

Friday Location:  Grosvenor Wentworth Park Elementary 4 Downing Street (open gym and scheduled private lessons)

 

  • Fall Session –runs from September 17th – December 3rd  (12 weeks) *This class participates in the Spryfield Santa Claus Parade and Holiday Recital
  • Winter Session – runs from January 7th – March 25th (12 weeks) *This class can participate in a badge clinic
  • Spring Session – runs from April1st – June 3rd (10 weeks) *This class participates in The Apple Blossom Children’s Parade and Year End Recital
  • National Training – runs from June 3rd – June 24th (Invite only for Omni/Niche members)

F Team Focus

An introductory class designed to let you experience the fun and challenge of the sport of Baton Twirling, body movement, basic dance steps and flexibility for Children 4-7 years of age.

Team Focus: 30 minute class once per week. Focus is on an introduction of twirling skills.

CLASS ATTIRE

  • Shorts
  • Tight fitting t-shirt
  • Indoor white soled runners
  • Hair – Ponytail (tied back, up, or off the face)

U Team Unison

After we get your twirler’s focus we can then bring their skills together and provide classes to further their twirling education in combination classes where emphasis is placed on baton twirling skills as well as conditioning, flexibility and stretch training while learning the CBTF Pre Event Routines;

  • Basic March
  • Forward Motion
  • Medley
  • Solo Dance

Team Unison: 45 minute class once per week. Focus is on technique required for Level 1 Pre Events

CLASS ATTIRE

  • Plain black leotard. 
  • Tights - nude or a color that matches dancer’s skin tone
  • Tan or black Jazz shoes
  • Hair – Ballet Bun
  • 1 Baton (2 Batons may be required)

*After completing this class students may be able to join the Competitive Twirling Program, or continue training with the Level 2 Pre Events in Team Spark*

S Team Spark

Now that we sparked your twirler’s talent and got the basics figured out everything is coming together and we get to put the skills they have developed on the floor competing Pre Events Level 1 and NBTA Novice competitions where we continue to improve on their twirling skills, coordination, performance and confidence. CBTF Pre Competitive Membership required ($15.00) Team Track Suit is required

Team Spark: 60 minute class once per week. Focus is on skill development for those students entering the competitive stream.

CLASS ATTIRE

  • Plain black leotard. 
  • Tights - nude or a color that matches dancer’s skin tone
  • Tan or black Jazz shoes
  • Hair – Ballet Bun
  • 1 Baton (2 Batons may be required for Team Spark)

I Team Ignite

Now that your twirler has some competition experience we continue their twirling education with training/competing Pre Event Level 2 and NBTA Novice / Beginner Competitions.  CBTF Pre Competitive Membership required ($15.00) Team Track Suit is required

Team Ignite: 60 minute class once per week and additional practice 2 weeks prior to competition.  Focus is on skill development for those students continuing to build on their competition skills.

CLASS ATTIRE

  • Plain black leotard. 
  • Tights - nude or a color that matches dancer’s skin tone
  • Tan or black Jazz shoes
  • Hair – Ballet Bun
  • 1 Baton (2 Batons may be required)

O Team Omni

So your twirler has reached the point where they are committed to being a competitive baton twirler.  Fusion Competitive Baton Twirlers work diligently, practicing during the week and on weekends. This team has the opportunity to travel to many competitions including Nations (if they qualify).  CBTF Athlete Membership Required ($40.00) & CNBTA (if trying to qualify $50.00)  Team Track Suit is required

  • NBTA Novice & Beginner / CBTF C & BN Level - 3 hours of class time per week as well as semi private/private lessons when coach deems necessary
  • NBTA Beginner & Intermediate / CBTF BN & BI Level - 4 hours of class time per week as well as private lessons when coach deems necessary including 1 hour team practice

  • Hair – Ballet Bun
  • 2 Batons are required

N Team Niche

Team Niche are all in and have the desire to twirl at the highest level possible. This team has the opportunity to travel to many National and International competitions as well as performances and parades and represent Fusion Baton Twirlers to the general public and the baton world. CBTF Athlete Membership Required ($40.00) & CNBTA ($50.00)  Team Track Suit is required

  • NBTA Advanced / CBTF BI & A - 5 hours of class time per week including 1 hour team practice as well as 1 mandatory private lesson
